Artist Statement

By using elements such as vibrant colors and vivid textures, I invoke emotions such as passion or joy within my viewers.  I create art because I enjoy the spontaneous and intuitive process of seeing my work transform and evolve. Using bright colors and varying textures is how I express emotions of energy, joy, calm and serenity, I strive to make each of my paintings unique, and ultimately meaningful.

Most of my work consists of fluid acrylics with multiple thick and thin layers. applications are made freely, combined with drips, pours, and scribbles allowing for a feeling of unpredictability. In essence, my style can be characterized and identified by the use of beautiful, vibrant colors.

I am inspired by my cultural South American background which is reflected in the use of cool colors, splashes, and movement symbolizing warm weather, sunny days, and happy people as can often been seen in several of my paintings.
