Lab News

This spring I was thrilled and proud to spend the semester in India with Christopher Kaczmarek, who is a Fulbright Scholar at IIT Kanpur for teaching and research. After fall in Italy and spring in India, I am looking forward to being in -nearly- the same time zone as most critters, and gathering for new and returning programming. In the fraughtness of our time, art creates a space of empathy, it holds space for hope, it makes the presence of human labor visible.

I am grateful for this community - that shares the joys and challenges of being a working artist.

Fall 2026 brings a rich table of programs, including our Crit Lab exhibition in November.

If you are a current, past, or new critter, I thank for following me along on this journey and for your involvement in The Lab. Check out our new Labs, our private social network, and MAPSpace/Crit Lab Cooperative venture.

All artists have a permanent profile in our Mighty Network, a private platform where ideas, images, opportunities are shared. Each Lab has their own space for the session. Critters retain forever access to our Mighty Network!

Labs are curated for maximum engagement and connection. Participants are curated into groups that offer connections in conceptual ideas, thematic overlaps as well as critical difference, to create strong meaningful dialogue. Artists learn from the peer dialogue of the curated group, building strength of ideas and resilience in community.
