Artist Statement

My artwork is a combination of abstract, organic and expressive geometric compositions. I find inspiration and ideas in natural elements, urban landscapes, changing seasonal colors, and everyday interior settings. My art is layered, process oriented, colorful, and surface rich.

The process begins by connecting energy to the physicality of my materials and to the visual world of shape, line, color and form. Reacting to the unexpected I allow the art to unfold as my observations and emotions connect. Working intuitively and formally I seek to find the meaning in my work. When the artwork begins to speak clearly, the elements find their place, and the artwork begins to take shape. Creating art is an evolving journey that continually keeps me challenged and engaged.
